Dinosaurs!

I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but I like dinosaurs. When Gramma and Granpa were out this fall, I got to build a real dinosaur fossil! We went to the park, and they got all these bones out of boxes and we got to help put it together. I think it was a duckbill.

I don't know if it was because I wore my favorite dinosaur t-shirt, or because I was waiting so patiently for so long (Daddy and I got there early!) they
let me put the tail on!!

It was one of the best days of my life!!!

Evan

It's been almost two years since Evan came out of mommy's belly. Sometimes I'd like to put him back.

But most of the time,he pretty cool.

Halloween

I am finally old enough to enjoy Halloween. Especially the candy part!!!! It last a long time. We go to these pumpkin patches where Evan and I get to pick out pumpkins. Then daddy and I made jack-o-lanterns! It was fun!

We had a Halloween party at school. Daddy and Grandma came. I am not really into performing in crowds, though.

Later, I got to dress as a pirate! Daddy made me my very own sword!!!!! I wish I had a real one, but daddy said not until I turn eight. I can't wait!!

We went to a party with all my friends. Everyone was dressed up! Then we went trick or treating, a big group of four year olds and their mommies and daddies. One house gave out treats for the grown ups too! What's a Pabst Blue Ribbon?

some houses were a little slow to answer the door. We made sure they didn't make that mistake again!

Accidents.

Accidents happen. Daddy doesn't seem to understand that. Like when we have company, and I wait to the last second to pee, and decide that I need to close the door after I've already started, and somehow manage to pee all over the inside of the door, across the wall and floor, and even across the toilet to the other wall. It was an accident. I said I was sorry.
Daddy says I always say that I'm sorry, but somehow keep peeing all over the floor.

Maybe we should make the potty bigger!

Music

Evan and I play music together. We're really good. We like to play drums the best! We like it loud. Daddy says he like music, but he never stays too long to listen while we play. I don't know why.

Fishing

I got a Lighting McQueen fishing rod for my birfday! Daddy has been teaching me to fish. First, we did it up in da mountains while we were camping. I didn't catch anything. We tried hard, too.

I'm not real good at the part where you throw the worm and the floaty thing out in the water, so daddy helped me. He's not very good at it either. The only thing we caught was a stick.

Then we went to this big pond near our house, and I had this cool backpack that turned into a chair, so I could lean back and relax and watch my floaty thing. Daddy said that all I was missing was a Pabst Blue Ribbon. I don't know what that is, but if helps catch fish, I'll take one. My floaty thing never moved.(click on the picture to see it in big, so you can see my fishing rod!)
Finally, Pop Pop came to visit. He knows how to fish! Pop Pop helped me catch four fish! They were all really big. For some reason they look small in the video.

My Brudder

Evan and I play a lot more now that he's old enough to play.
We have a lot of fun, as long as he does what I tell him to do!
I guess we can keep him.

Forest Fire

A few weeks ago we went to the store and when we came out, there was smoke all over the sky! Daddy said there must be a big forest fire. We went home and the smoke was going right over our house. Mommy had to close the windows because it smelled like camping outside. I kind of liked the smell. Little pieces of ash landed our car and on our porch.
The fire made a lot of smoke. I hope all the animals are ok. If they have no place to live, they can come and live in our back yard.

Dinosaurs

I kind of like Dinosaurs. All I want is dinosaur books from the library. I like dinosaur pajamas and shirts. I have a dinosaur encyclopedia that I would sell my soul to anyone who reads it to me. My favorite dinosaurs are the t-rex, and the futolongosoraus. I think Daddy like Prenacephalie. They have the thick heads and would run into each other like bighorn sheep. Daddy always asks me what they are when we get to them in my books. I say, "daddy, those are the butt-headers." but he never seems to remember, because he always asks again.

School

I go to school now! It's called "pre-school" and it is close enough that we can walk there. Here is a picture of me on my first day. I wore my favorite t-shirt! I have lots of friends there, and most days I love going.
Most days.

Pre-school

I go to pre-school now! Here I am on my first day! I got to wear one of my favorite T-shirts.

It is really close. We can walk. Some days mommy takes me, other days daddy does. We usually ride my bike. I can ride my strider bike or my big-boy pedal bike. I'm not real comfortable on the pedal bike yet. I still get off and walk past the driveways, cause I tend to fall down where ever it slopes sideways. so it takes a looong time to get to school. Daddy get's grumpy about it sometimes. Says we are going to be late. I don't know why. It's not like he's on a bike. he's got it easy, he just walks. Carrying Evan. And my stuff.
I LOVE school. We make all sorts of pictures. There's a giant T-rex puzzle (Have I mentioned that I like dinosaurs?), and lots of friends. It's a lot more fun than staying home with boring Mommy or Daddy.

Mommy's Birfday

Mommy had a birthday. I got her new pajamas, that I picked out all by myself. It was even my idea. I was hoping on finding her some with dinosaurs on them, but we couldn't find any. My other idea was a dress with dinosaurs, but we couldn't find that either.
Grown up clothes aren't any fun at all.

Gymnasitcs

I'm still doing gymnastics. I love it! I think the trampoline is my favorite part. It's perfect for me. I bounce around non-stop anyway, whether I'm at the table or brushing my teeth. The only time I'm still is if you are reading me a book, or Tom and Jerry is on the tv. Otherwise, I can't sit still. Ever. Mommy gets kind of angry sometimes when I get in and out of my chair thirty three times during a five minute lunch. 'Specially when I spill my milk again.

swimming!

I learned to swim this summer! All by my self! Auntie Sue and Uncle Kenny taught me. I wore a life jacket and things called "floaties", but I did it! I swam. I like to swim.

I wish we had a pool like Auntie Sues. Daddy says as soon as we win the lottery. What's a lottery?

Mount Evans

We drove up a big mountain. We could drive almost to the top! It was fun. Except the part where Evan threw up his oatmeal in the car. That part wasn't so fun.

At the top, we saw mountain goats. It was really cool. There was even a baby mountain goat!
Even though it was hot at our house, it was pretty chilly up there. I had to wear a hat. I could see forever, we were so high.

I got to hang out with my friend Dylan, too.

Then we had a picnic in the back of Dylan's Daddy's truck. We were going to have it by this lake, but it was raining. LAter, when we were driving home, the rain got really hard and then turned to hail, and lightning was hitting the rocks in front of us. Daddy stopped talking and drove on the wrong side of the road. Silly Daddy. On the side we were supposed to be on you could see way, way down to big rocks. I don't know what "guard rails" are, or what a "thousand foot drop off" means, but Daddy said we only had the drop off, not the gaurd rails. I didn't know Mommy could hold her breath so long, but I didn't see her breath until we were all the way back down in the trees.

hair cut

Summer time is hot! My hair was always too hot, so I finally got a short hair cut. Daddy wanted to give me a Mohawk. I don't know what that is, but Mommy almost let him. She changed her mind at the last minute. I think Mommy misses my long hair, but it sure is cooler now.

Gymnastics

(editors note-I'm still catching up, these are videos from may)

I'm still doing gymnastics. I love it. Daddy got to come in to the big room "the udder day".

we do rolls

the swingy thing

The thing you walk on carefully

And we jump into the foam blocks!

I even practice at home! Evan gets in the way sometimes.

Granma and granpa

Granma and granpa came out to visit. I love when they come out, and am sad when they leave. I like to curl up on the couch beside Granpa, but sometimes I can't stay awake. A few days after they left I told mommy that the couch smelled like grandpa. He wears something called "after shave". I don't know what it is, but it smells like granpa.

He reads me books. I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but I kind of like books. I took one with me to the hardware store "the other day" (this is what I use for any day in the past).

Sometimes I let Evan sit with us too.

Cooking

I LOVE to help cook. I help Daddy make pancakes or french toast every weekend. I get to mix stuff up as long as I'm careful, and add the "gredients". I like to touch everything before I put it in. Daddy won't let me break the eggs yet.

I like to put the pasta in the hot water, too. I'm a BIG help. I save Daddy and Mommy lots of time, which is good, because they need that extra time for clean up!

more skiing

After a hard day of skiing, there's nothing like kicking back and haveing a cold drink with your best bud.
Skiing is hard work. I don't know why Daddy looks tired afterward, he doesn't ski at all. He just walks around with Evan in a backpack, pulling me up and down the hills on my skis.

Skiing

I go skiing. We go up to Eldora. There's lot's of snow. Mommy goes onto da big mountain and does snowboarding. I'm not old enough yet. I stay on the little mountain by the car and Daddy pulls me up and down on my skis. Evan rides on Daddy's back. Then we go for a walk in the woods. I like walking in the woods. Sometimes the snow is so deep Daddy carries me and Evan. He says that isn't good for his boo boo on his knee. Specially when he falls down.
Da udder day after I went skiing, I fall asleep on the way home and slept the whole way to the next day. Skiing makes me tired. I really like it. Daddy says next year I get real boots and skis, and will go on da big mountain. I'm a little scared.
Here's a picture of my new helmet. It looks just like Daddy's.

Jumping

My bed is perfect for jumping on. I do it all the time. Daddy says he's going to show this picture to my prom date. I don't know what a "prom" or a "date" is. But I do know that I'm a great jumper.

More Josephisms

I use to say "no thank you, stinky" to Momma. She didn't like it much, being called stinky. So I combined it. Now I always say "no stank you" to Momma. Now she laughs.

I like to call everyone "banana peel" when I'm being silly. And I'm silly a lot!

Geez Daddy!

Some people don't wake up as fast as you. Can you let me alone a little bit in the morning, please?

Gymnastics

Since I can't seem to stop climbing on and jumping off the furniture, I got to start gymnastics! I really like it. (I'm the one in the red pants).

It's hard to wait my turn sometimes though. I wish we could get a trampoline at home, but Mommy says Daddy hurts himself enough already. He does seem to get boo boos in his knees a lot.

Books

I like books. I got a cool new one for Christmas about big machines. In Michigan, Jeremy would read to me.

In Pennsylvania I got Pop Pop to read to me...

Morgan to read to me ....

And if all else fails I read to myself.
I got a library card! We go to the library every few weeks, and I get new dinosaur books. I LOVE dinasaur books, and will read them to myself after Mommy and Daddy start rolling their eyes when I ask, and say they will read anything, anything, but THAT book again. But I LIKE that book!

We went to a party with lots of little kids running around, and I complained to Daddy that I couldn't find any books.

I kind of like books.

Christmas

We flew to Auntie Sue's for Christmas. I got to see all my cousins, and play all day with them. They have a lot of trucks in their basement! We made a little house out of cookies and frosting and jelly beans. Anton did most of the work, but I helped. Yummy!

I also learned how to ice skate! Mommy took me since Daddy has a big boo boo on his knee still. He had to stay outside of the ice with Evan. But I got to ice skate. I got pretty good I think. Mommy's back hurt for a long time afterwards.

We went to a big party at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Down in their basement. And SAnta came!!! He called all the kids up to sit on his lap, and gave them each a toy.
I like Santa, and I know he brings toys. I love toys! But I'm just not quite ready to sit on his lap.

Josephisms

"What did he did?"

"Isn't that the perfect lello?" (yellow)

"one, two, fthree!"

I also hold my ears when I'm scared. It can be a scary part in a tv show or a book.
