Dissappointment

I don't know why mommy won't let us join a motorcycle gang. She's so mean.

dinosaur fossil

I got a toy where I can dig up a dinosaur fossil using a little wooden digger and a special brush, just like a real paleontologist. It's dusty work, so I needed daddy's goggles.

I find it to be very interesting stuff, this digging up fossils. I could do it for hours!

Evan, not so much.

Gymnastics

I am taking gymnastics again. I love it. At gymnastics, we get to do all the things we'd get in trouble for at home! Like climbing up on things and jumping off.

Dancing

We still like to dance!! Evan's getting pretty good too!
This is a long video, but not as long as our typical dance session!
Mommy likes to watch us dance. She says we are both excellent dancers.

Birthday

Well, I finally turned five!!! I am almost grown up. Daddy still won't let me drive though. And I still have to hold his hand in parking lots.
I had a birthday party and all my friends came. We had hot dogs and cupcakes and some sort of vegatbles that none of us touched.


But best of all, we had a pinata! It was a dinosaur!!! Or something kind of like a dinosaur, anyway. It was huge!


Every kid got a turn. Many turns...



but it wouldn't break. Eventually a grown up whacked it and it broke open. then we sang happy birthday and I blew out the candles on my cupcakes.


And my friends helped me open my presents.


I got all sorts of cool stuff!

It was a great birthday. Mommy said that that's it, that was my last big birthday party. She looked kind of tired. And daddy almost burnt his eyebrows off with the grill, and looked kind of tired too. I don't know why. the part was lots and lots of fun. I can't wait till my next birthday!

Two wheeler pics!!!!

This was only my second day.

But I learned fast. I went from slow and careful, to .....

up and down the street! Evan likes to ride too! He's getting pretty good on the stryder bike.

No training wheels!!!

Big things happen once you're five!!!! Today daddy took my training wheels off my bicycle. He lowered the seat really low so I could touch really easily so I wouldn't be scared, and then ran along beside me holding the handle bars with me. After a few times, he let go while he was running. And guess what!!!! I didn't fall! I was even able to stop and start riding all by myself!! Daddy would just run along behing me, but I never fell!

I can ride a bike!!!!!!!!

Cards

Mommy has been teaching me to play Uno! I like it, but I'm not good at holding the cards up. So I hide them in my little car's garage while we play.

Summer time!

It's summer, and the livin' is easy! I like summer. It's warm out. We get to play outside! Daddy and I built a birdhouse. I got to put the screws in and even paint it. He helped me hang it up on the house. So far, no birdies have moved in. I can't wait till they do!

Bowling

My friend Dylan had a birthday. He's five! He had a party where we got to bowl! It was so much fun, I kept going even when the other kids started to get a little bored. Daddy says I have a long attention span sometimes. Too long if it involves Dinosaurs!
There weren't any dinosaurs here but it was still fun!



Dylan's Mommy made us special bowling shirts!
I wore mine to preschool three days in a row!!

Easter

I like Easter. I really like painting eggs.

I like finding the basket the East bunny leaves. He gave me a DVD of Planet Earth! How does he know I like those sort of things?


I got some chocolate too!
But most of all, I like finding the eggs! Evan liked it too. Maybe too much.

Even more skiing.

We went skiing one last time. Since Eldora was already closed, Daddy took my to another place, a big mountain called Loveland. It was a longer drive, but we stopped and got a scone on the way, so it was okay. And once we were there we got some chocolate, too!
The little kid part of Loveland was closed, so I had to go on the big mountain with the big kids and grown ups. I was scared the first time down, but after that I had a lot of fun! Daddy helps me get off the lift, but other than that I am fine. I like skiing.



I saw Daddy do a jump and I told him I wanted to do it too. Then I decided just to ski up it and down the other side really slow. I told Daddy later that I did do a little jump. I also did my first "face plant" and a "yard sale". Daddy make me laugh when I fall down so that I don't cry. My legs get really tired after about 2 1/2 hours, and our last run took a long time down the mountain because I was so tired.

Granpa and Granma!

Granma and Granpa came to visit! I love when they come. Granma makes me ham sandwiches with mayonnaise, and Granpa reads me stories. Lots of stories. Lots and lots and lots.

Have I mentioned that I like book? Especially books about dinosaurs. Have I mentioned that I like dinosaurs?

So Daddy's been taking me skiing. We usually go up the long magic carpet, and he ski's behind me on skies, using these long straps to help me stop. The magic carpet is fun, but I really wanted to do the big lift, the one with the chairs. So Daddy took me on it!!!

I loved it, although getting off was hard. I would fall, Daddy would fall trying to catch me. He had trouble holding me with the straps on the steep part under the big lift too. Daddy's not a very good skier.

So the "next day" we went skiing again, only this time Daddy used his snowboard instead of his skis. He would just lift me up and carry me off the lift and then set me down once we stopped. That way was a LOT better!

We started out with the straps, with Daddy behind me on his snowboard, but after a few runs Daddy just dropped the straps and went out in front of me. And I skied all by myself!!!!!! So now we don't use the straps. I like Daddy to snowboard in front of me so he can catch me if I can't stop. But he never had to catch me!!
I can't wait to go again!!! I even did the big, big lift! Not the magic carpet, not the little lift beside it, but one for big kids and grown ups! I still can't get off of it, Daddy actually carries me off of it and sets me down once we come to a stop. But I am very proud of myself that I am "on the big mountain!"
Editors note: Do not worry, he's still on the kiddie side of the mountain. It's just a bigger lift.

piano

We got a piano! Daddy says that it is older than dirt. It also has one key that won't play. But I like it. I already sit down and play it and sing. It's easier to play than the guitar. I told Daddy my favorite instrument is the drums. I wonder why he didn't buy a drum set? But I still like the piano.

More skiing

I took another ski lesson. It was just ok. I wasn't quite ready for the group I was in. But I still tried real hard and only cried a little. I just can't figure out how to stop! I can turn, but never quite stop. We start out on the little magic carpet.




Later we move to the big magic carpet. It was still fun. Kind of.




I'm not sure I want to go again.

Dinosaur bones!

I got this pretend fossil kit for Christmas. It is T-Rex bones buried in a rock. You have to chip away the rock and then dust off the bones, just like a real Paleontologist. (did I spell that right?).
Mommy let me do it the other day. I had to do it in a bowl because it made lots and lots of dust! I worked patiently at it for hours. I can be really patient when it comes to Dinosaurs.

After we got all the bones out, Daddy put it together for me. It falls apart to easily to play with, so Daddy is going to glue it together.

Dude!

Daddy must think the word "dude" is funny, because the "udder day" when my friend Ryan (he's older than me, he's five!) was over, I would say to him, "Hold on, dude!" and Daddy would smile.

Ski lessons.

I took a real ski lesson. Daddy took me up in the morning. I was a little scared, because Daddy wasn't allowed to come with me. I thought I saw somebody who looked a lot like Daddy watching from up the hill, but it's hard to tell when everybody has all that stuff on. Speaking of stuff, I have a new ski jacket!!

I have new long underwayer, some sort of head thingy, new ski pants, and mittens. I lost a mitten the first day. We spent an hour looking for it. Daddy didn't look happy. All my stuff is pretty big because Daddy says it has to fit next year too.
I liked the lesson, but it was loooonng! I quit before it was over and they let me go upsstairs and color and drink cocoa and have cookies.
I had more fun when Daddy took me the "next day" (two weeks later), just us two. He hooks straps to me and goes behind me. We ride a magic carpet thing up the hill. You just stand on it and it takes you up! Then we go down. I just want to go fast! Afterward, we shared a cookie and a cocoa and a hot dog! Mommy doesn't like me eating hot dogs, but Daddy said that today was all about fun, not being healthy.
I hope we go again tomorrow!
