School

Daddy and I were talking about school. He said someday I will be big enough to go to school. I said, "Daddy, when I go to school, you come with me for a few minute. Then I be brave."

Halloween

I like Halloween. I wanted to be a purple monster. We went to a party at Mommy's work, and Daddy dressed me. I'm not sure it turned out the way I wanted.

Then, the next night, all these people came to our door dressed up in costumes. I was stying in because I wasn't feeling well, but I said "How come everybody is trick-or-treating but me?" Daddy and Mommy looked read sad for a minute and then dressed me up real quick in a costume that Grandma gave me.

I went out with Daddy and our neighbor Aaron and Nichol and we got LOTS of candy. And we saw a firetruck!

Evan moved into my room! I had to help Daddy take my bed apart so we could move it out. We gave it to another little boy. I sure am a good helper. I know how to run the "lectric screwdriver" and everything!

Evan cries sometimes at night, but I sleep right through it. Sometimes he wakes me up early in the morning, and I don't like that. Mommy doesn't either. She says if I wake up too early I'm a bear later. I don't understand. I'm still a little boy. I would love to be a bear!

Soccer

I went to all of Daddy's soccer games until he got another boo boo on his knee. They brought him off the field on the cart I always asked about. Daddy said it was for people who got boo boos so bad they couldn't walk. I guess he got a bad boo boo. I picked him some dandelions and layed my head on him. I was worried. I am really good about asking him which leg has the boo boo before I jump on him. Except the one time. oops.

But watching him play soccer made me want to play too!

I play soccer now too! My friend Dylan and I "do soccer!" I liked it at first, but am kind of bored now with it. I liked coach Linsdey, I even maked her a picture. I don't have her anymore.

After Christmas Mommy says I am going to "do gymnastics". I like to do gymnastics. I can do a forward roll, and jump on the couch, and all sorts of things.

Foosball

Daddy and I play soccer on a table downstairs! I'm getting pretty good! (Daddy's note: video from august 18th)

One day Mommy came home and Daddy and I were downstairs playing soccer on the table and watching football on TV. Daddy yelled up for Mommy to bring us some beer and pretzels, but she didn't. Too bad. I like pretzels.

Birthday

I had a birthday this summer. I turned "fthree"!
I got a stomp rocket!! I love rockets! Mommy says it is an outside toy only. We'll see....

our trip-part1

We flew on a big airplaine again. Uncle Kenny was there, and I got to watch Curious George on my own little tv the whole time! Mommy usually only lets me watch a little tv, no matter how much I lie on the floor and whine, but this time she let me watch forever. Oh, and Evan was there too. He slept.

We stayed at Auntie Sue's house, and I got to play with "Antiton", Dante, and Jeremy. It was a lot of fun. I got to run through a sprinkler! And they have a pool! I wish we had a pool. I asked Mommy why we didn't have one when we got back home.

We don't have pictures because Mommy didn't have a camera. Daddy brought it later. I will show pictures from our second week at Auntie Sue's later.

We then drove to my other Grandma and Poppop's house in Grandpa's van. It has a tv too! I got to watch Cailou, the same one, over and over. We forgot the other ones. Evan cried sometimes. I don't think he liked being in a car seat for 8 hours. I cried a little too. So did Daddy.

At Grandma and Poppops my cousins Jamie and Eden stay there too in a big house, and my other cousins Morgan and Cara came over every day and played. Evan didn't play with them, he's just a baby.

They have a little bicycle that I can actually reach the pedals, and I got pretty good!

They have a really loong driveway that I could ride down.

Poppop took me and my cousin Cara fishing! I caught my first fish! So did Cara! I had my own rod, that was "the perfect size for me." It was pink. Who is Barbie?

It was so much fun that now at home I have a big stick and pretend to fish in my sandbox. So far I've only caught a dumptruck and two buckets.

Grandma and Poppop also have a little house on long legs with a BIG slide coming off it. I can climb up now without someone having to be behind me. We sat up there and made pretend apple cookies. Even Poppop came up.

I have lots of fun with my cousins.

And unlike and Auntie Sue's, I actually have girl cousins here

We would run around and play, and for the first time, I was a big kid! It was the most fun EVER!

Daddy talks too much in the morning.

Sometimes I wish he would just shut up and let me eat breakfast.

Editors note: This is from the 4th of July.

Howdy Folks!

It has been a long time since I've written anything. It has been a good summer so far! I am starting to really enjoy coloring and drawing. They may look like scribbles to you, but they are Rockets to me!

I've been playing soccer with my friend Kevin . (Notice my stylish Giraffe Boot Soccer shoes!)

I have also stopped napping. Mommy isn't so sure that that is such a good idea. Sometimes I get a little grumpy. But I'm not sleepy. I swear!

Daddy also built a house for Mr. and Mrs. Robin, and they had a family. Two brothers, just like me and Evan!! I got to watch them get bigger and then fly away. Daddy says he doesn't want me to fly away like that. He must be being silly, cause I don't have wings!

More Father's Day

Daddy really liked it when I said "Happy Father's Day", so now I try it occasionally when he's upset with me. When I don't listen, and he's lecturing me, I say out of nowhere "Happy Father's Day Daddy." It doesn't seem to help.
Speaking of lectures, Mommy talks to me a lot about pooping on the potty. A LOT! So the other day, when I made poops in my pants, I told Daddy not to tell Mommy. When he asked why, I said "I don't like her talking."

Father's Day

Last weekend was father's day. We gave Daddy a new coffee mug that I think he really likes, cause he now uses it every morning and at night too! It's really pretty. Mommy said it's "pottery". It looks like a coffee mug to me.

We also gave Daddy a card. I was upset that he didn't get flowers since we gave flowers to Mommy for Mother's day, so Mommy had me draw some in the card. Daddy said they looked really good!

We then went for a hike with my friend Dylan, like we do every father's day. We went back up to that lake in the mountains, and Dylan and I took off our shoes and played in the water. I accidently threw one of my shoes in after I took it off, by accident. Luckily we had another pair. Dylan and I didn't care that the water was ice cold!

Dylan and I pretended to catch fish and give them to Daddy. I had a piece of fishing string with a sinker on it, and Dylan had a stick for a fishing rod. We had lot's of fun,

Dylan and I are pretty silly together!

Little Evan

I love my brother. Especially because when it is time to put him down for a nap, I sometimes get to watch TV! I tell Mommy and Daddy all the time, that "I love Evan."
He needs to stay away from my fire truck though. I don't love him that much!

Nothing like a good book!

I love books!

Never ending story!

I told my first never ending, non-sensical story the other day. Daddy was rocking me in the chair before bed, and I started talking about a horsey trying to jump over a hill, and the hill jumped up and caught it. Then the hill had a wagon, with a rainbow colored ball in it. And then it went on from there. I continued the story as Daddy layed me down in the bed and as he walked out the door. It was kind of hard to tell in the dark, but Daddy's eyes seemed to be glazed over.

Physical Fitness

I have lots of energy. Even right before bed! Daddy and Mommy can't seem to keep up with me, they always look tired. I don't know why. Maybe Evan will run with me when his legs work.

Music

I love music. I play guitar and drums and like to sing. I can sing "you are my sunshine" all by myself, but I need a little help with "wheels on the bus." (another video from april)

I love to play the drums too. Here is my special "all percusion" version of "you are my sunshine".

The stupid egg wouldn't hatch. No matter how long I sat on it!

Baseball

I love playing sports. I don't understand the rules, and to me, every sport includes "running the bases". I play basketball, and tell Daddy that he's "the team". I'm pretty good at making baskets. We play soccer and Daddy and I kick the ball back and forth. He seems to want me to do that the most, even though I prefer baseball or basketball. In baseball, I hit the ball then run the bases, making sure to properly throw my bat and then slide while saying "cloud of dust".

Here is an older video (from April) showing my baseball skills!

Playing by my self

I'm starting to get pretty good at playing by myself. Some days all I need from Mommy and Daddy is some breakfast and a cup of milk, I then go off and entertain myself. My imagination is really growing, I have my little cars talk to each other, my stuffed animals talk to each other, or my animals talk to my cars!

Of course, other days I get bored easily, and walk around asking "What we gonna do now?" after every little thing. Or I lie on the floor and wistfully say "There's nothing to do." Then Mommy or Daddy try and do puzzles with me or read books to me while holding Evan. He likes the books and puzzles too, but he always tries to lean forward and grab them and put them in his mouth. I don't like that!
You notice that I didn't say "play quietly" by myself. While I play, I like to sing, or babble nonsense words and phrases, just to hear my own voice.

Daddy said he will add more videos of this later. He has to download them from the big video camera and he's too lazy to do it.

New Potty!

I got a new potty! It fits on to a big people's potty, and has steps to reach it. I love it. The first day I got it I took off my clothes and sat on it for twenty minutes. I would get up every once and awhile to go get another stack of books. I sat and read books to myself on the potty, just like Grampa does!

I've still prefer to go stand in the corner behind the train table and go in my diaper though. Sometimes I'll do that right after sitting on the potty for awhile. Mommy told me I'll get two cookies if I use the potty, but that's not enough. I'm holding out for a new bulldozer for the sandbox.

Talking

People say I talk really well for my age. But here are a few things that I say that make Mommy and Daddy smile

"Daddy, can you do me a favorite?"

Whenever I see a flower that is getting ready to bloom, I say "This one is about to flame!"

"when I'm a big, huge man I'll be able to drive a car, and Daddy will ride in the carseat."

Educating Daddy

For a big people, Daddy sure needs some help.

this week when I was picking out my vitamin (I like to pick one out myself each morning. They are shaped like animals) Daddy said,
"How about a lion?"
"That's not a lion Daddy, that's a leopard. They're kind of similar." I said.

Or when he made my burrito, but said it was still too hot. I said
"Blow on it to cool it down Daddy."
"I can blow on it, but it is the inside that is hot, so blowing on it won't really help."
"Open it up, then you can cool the inside."
He opened it up and blew on the inside before giving it too me. He was mumbling something under his breath that sounds like he called me a "smart " and then some word I never heard before that rhymes with glass.
Speaking of rhymes, I am getting good at doing that! It must be all the Doctor Suess books.

The end of an era.

Yesterday daddy asked me my name, and I said, "Joseph". Up until now I always said "Jofuf". I now can say my name right! Daddy said that I'm getting to be such a big boy and that he was pround of me, but he looked a little sad too.

ski pics!

So here is a movie of my first time skiing. It's a link to youtube. I'm really good!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CspCmVeMCxU&feature=channel_page

Here is a picture of me, Daddy, and Evan riding the magic carpet. Evan doesn't seem to be having as much fun.

And then all three of us going down the hill.

Daddy got tired. So Darren took me too!

I'm really good, aren't I? I can't wait to go again. Daddy said maybe next year I can go on the big lift.

Even after that skiing, there's always enough energy for dancing!

Copper Mountain

We went up to da mountains for the weekend. Daddy and Mommy went snowboarding, and I went skiing! (video coming later). I did really well. They were my friend Dylan's skis. He let me try them. I even wore his helmet.

We stayed at some "condo". I don't know what that means, but it was right next to a stage where there was people playing music. Daddy and Mommy and Darren and Dana would open the windows and watch and drink beer. We went down for a little bit, but I didn't like it, it was too loud.

Here's what it looked like from our window.

Dylan is my friend, which means we only fight over toys every 20 minutes. Actually, he likes playing with my toys and I like playing with his, so it works out. We try to cooridinate our tantrums too. It seems to make our Daddy's drink their beer a lot faster! And I have learned to get Daddy a beer from the fridge. He's very proud!

We spent Easter Sunday up there. I have no idea what that means, but I saw a giant rabbit, and got some stuff.

I never took a nap the entire weekend either!

Dylan really likes my baby brother. We can't wait until Evan is big enough to play with us!

Evan has a blog.

Evan wanted to use my blog, but I'm still learning about that "sharing" thing, so I made him get his own. I did link to it in the upper corner of my blog though.

Big Boy Bed!!

I got a Big Boy Bed!!!! Now that I'm a big boy(I'm no longer Baby Jofuph, ever since Evan was born, I'm just Jofuph!), I needed a big boy bed. Mommy's friend gave me one!

It needed painted, so I painted it! I wanted to paint it red, but Daddy said that the store was all out of red, so he got a blue that matched my dresser instead.

Daddy helped paint a little.
I got a little paint on the driveway. I don't think Daddy liked that. What's a "power washer" anyway?

I love lazy weekends!

Playdough!

Daddy made playdough. It doesn't look like the stuff we have at daycare, but he says it's better. I played with it for hours. Daddy said he isn't sure who had more fun, me or Mommy.

Mr. Independent

Mommy told me that I have to ask before I go outside. So yesterday, when Daddy was taking care of Evan, I asked. Daddy said no, because I still had my pj's on. But Mommy didn't say I had to get a yes for an answer, she just said I had to ask. So I went outside anyway. Daddy was changing Evan and looked out the window, and there I was in my pj's and bare feet, playing in the sandbox. When I turned on the hose faucet, he could hear it though. I rinsed off my feet myself before coming back in, because I know that I'm supposed to. I couldn't tell if Daddy was angry or not, he said I can't do that without "permission" ,whatever that is, but he looked like he was smiling.
There are too many rules!

Sleeping Naked

When Daddy put me to bed the other night, I was wearing a diaper and footy pajamas. When he came in to check on me at 10pm, I was buck naked! I don't know how that happened. The diapers and pj's must have slid off while I was sleeping. I do like the feeling of my soft blanket on my body, but that's just a coincidence.

Guest Blogger Evan

Hello everybody. Jojuf is letting me do my own entry. But he says all that I'm allowed to write is that I am happy to have him as a big brother. And I am!
Daddy says that Evan is going to look up to me some day. I think he already does!

Potty update.

Well, I haven't been able to repeat my success on the potty. I did pee near the potty the other day though! And today, when I was supposed to be taking a nap, I took off my pj's and my diaper, crawled out of my crib, and drug my stool over to the potty and mommy came up and found me naked standing on the stool, trying to pee.

Potty!

I pooed on the potty!! Last night I said that I wanted to "go hide", which is my code word that I have to make poops. Mommy said I should go upstairs and try on the potty. So Daddy and I ran upstairs and he put me on the potty. Before he could even start reading me a book, I made poops!!!!
Mommy and Daddy were sooo proud of me! We clapped and they hugged me. It was wonderful! Then I got to pick out a chocalate chip cookie for going on the potty. I liked it so much, I used the potty again this morning!!!!! I'm getting to be a big boy.

more visitors

After Grandma and Grandpa left, Grandma and Grandpa came. I know that that sounds confusing, but I have two grandpas and lots of grandmas! I call my one grandpa Pop Pop. He plays with me and my trucks. I think I'm too much for him!

Grandma plays with me too. She pushes me in my wagon. She's not afraid to make it go fast! I like fast!

Visitors

We have been getting lots of visitors recently. So many that the first day we didn't have any, when I got up in the morning I asked where everybody was! First, Grandma came out to play with me since Mommy is so busy. I have two Grandpas and lots of Grandmas. First Grandma Phyllis came out (I sometimes call her that). She played "constuction" with me. I LOVE constuction. You get to wear special hats.

Then Grandpa came out and stayed with us too! He reads me books. I love books. Maybe even more than constuction.

I tried to be good while they were here, but it was very hard. Sometimes I just had to lay down on the floor and cry at the injustice of it all! Daddy would come home from work and ask me if I was good, and I would tell him that "I wasn't a nice boy" He would ask why, and I would tell him the important reasons, like "cause I wanted open the door" and grandpa did, or that "I want mommy hand me the milk" and grandma did instead. You know, the important things. It is hard being two.

This baby isn't going away.

Well folks, it has been a month now, and it looks like this new baby is staying. I got to tell you, I'm not sure how happy I am about that. He takes up all Mommy's time, and poops a LOT!

Baby Brudder!!!

Evan James was born!

I finally have a baby Brudder. One night I went to bed, and when I woke up my friends Suzanne and Kevin and Malia were at the house, and Mommy and Daddy were at the hospital. Later Daddy came and we went and got Grandma from the airport and then went saw my NEW BRUDDER!! He is very small and I am supposed to be very gentle with him.
I was gentle with the baby, but liked to jump up and down on the hospital bed, jump from the chair to the bed, and also roll down the bed when it was tilted up. Then Mommy would give Daddy this look and he would suddenly take me downstairs to get a treat from the coffee shop, or play in the hall. Mommy is very tired, so Mommy and Daddy stayed at the hospital a few days, and Grandma took care of me at home. I tried to be good for her, but it is hard to be good!

Now Evan is home. Mostly he sleeps, and even snores
but when he's awake he's always mellow. He likes to sit and look around and watch the "camp chaos" as Mommy says.
Mommy says she got lucky again with another mellow baby, but that apparently when they turn two they become crazy. I wonder if she means me?

When he does cry I get very concerned and ask Mommy,"Why da baby crying?". I also like to watch him get his diaper changed. He poops a lot!
I am very gentle with him, and like to hold him from time to time. I even read my books to him.

I think he likes it. He doesn't say much. Daddy says he looks like I did when I was a baby, not the Big Boy I am now. Here is a picture of him and a picture of me. Which one is which?

I'm the handsome one!

New Bike!!!

I got a bike for Christmas. A big boy bike!!!!!! It doesn't have pedals though. I sit on it and push with me feet. I love it!!! We took it outside to ride! I love to go up and down the sidewalk(Daddy won't let me on the street, I know that rule well!!!). It takes a long time to get anywhere though, Daddy says I'm easily distracted. I don't what that means, but I do know I like to look at lot of things while we ride!

I am supposed to wear a helmet, but I don't really like it.

Christmas Tree

Hello everybody!

Christmas was good here in Colorado. We had a Christmas tree, which I helped decorate with these funny, shiny balls. I only broke two! I got to put the star at the top!

It seemed like a big tree to me, but Daddy said it looked like the tree from Charlie Brown's Christmas.
